Original Recipe

Fill quart bottle three quarters full of whiskey, 1 pony glass of Curacao, 1 wine glass of gum syrup, one half glass of Angostura bitters, 1 teaspoonful of lemon juice, shake well. Brandy and Gin Cocktail may be made in the same way substituting those liquors instead of whiskey.

Modern Recipe

Ingredients

  • 24 oz (720 ml) whiskey
  • 1 oz (30 ml) orange liqueur
  • 2 oz (60 ml) simple syrup
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Angostura bitters
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice

Instructions

Add all ingredients to a bottle, shake well to combine. Store and serve as needed.
