Original Recipe

Use large bar glass, 1 bottle of wine to 6 large glasses. Use in each glass ½ teaspoonful of sugar, 3 dashes of bitters, ½ pony glass of brandy, 1 piece of lemon peel. Fill with ice, shake well and serve.

Modern Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of champagne (split between 6 glasses)
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) sugar per glass
  • ¼ oz (7.5 ml) Angostura bitters per glass
  • ½ oz (15 ml) brandy per glass
  • Lemon peel

Instructions

Fill each glass with champagne, sugar, bitters, and brandy. Add ice, shake gently, and garnish with a lemon peel.
