Original Recipe

Use a small bar glass 1 teaspoonful of sugar, 3 dashes of bitters, 1 teaspoonful of Brandy, some cracked ice, 1 bottle of soda water. Stir rapidly with spoon and serve. This drink should never stand, but should be served while foaming.

Modern Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sugar
  • ¼ oz (7.5 ml) Angostura bitters
  • ¼ oz (7.5 ml) brandy
  • Cracked ice
  • Soda water

Instructions

Fill a glass with ice, add sugar, bitters, and brandy. Stir rapidly, top with soda water, and serve immediately while foaming.
